With the Adams-Hydra match resulting in a complete rout for Adams, this blunder (Kramnik misses a simple tactical mate in one) illustrates the difference between humans and computers. Humans are able to suffer from fatigue and emotional factors. Kramnik made the mistake of relying on the computer's opening book rather than on his own chess knowledge in this game (some do not believe this is a mistake--however, Kramnik perhaps should have emphasized intuition). The tactical strength of a computer will easily surpass world champion strength, even on a laptop computer with two cores.
