Corus Chess 2008   Round 1   Round 2   Round 3   Round 4   Round 5   6   7   8   Short-Cheparinov   9   10   11   12   13

This was an interesting round because Topalov beat Kramnik as white with a combination that he uncorked early in the opening. Apparently, both players were almost playing blindfold because neither one dared to look across the board (they despise one another so much since the Toiletgate scandal). Adams played an excellent game against Van Wely, and Carlsen blundered in a drawn position. Now, Carlsen and Aronian are still leading.

White to Move and Pin:

Adams-Van Wely

Why does black resign here? Adams-Van Wely

White to Move: Topalov-Kramnik- A tactical surprise

White to Move: Topalov engages in a risky, but successful variation. Can you also win as white against black?

White to Move and Win: A Difficult decision, Topalov-Kramnik

Black to Move and Draw: Leko-Carlsen, Carlsen makes a blunder, but can you find the drawing move for black?
