Magnus Carlsen and Levon Aronian are the joint winners of this year's Corus Chess tournament. Congratulations to both of these players for playing outstanding games! Gelfand beat Eljanov in this final round, and Leko beat Mamedyarov.

White to Move and Win: Gelfand-Eljanov

White to Move and Win: Leko-Mamedyarov

Veselin Topalov performed poorly this tournament, but one can expect that he will recover. Vladimir Kramnik played well, but he appeared to be tired by the tournament's end. Anand played poorly at the beginning of the tournament, but later recuperated and made an excellent finish. He avoided risky play and was able to finish in 3rd place. Levon Aronian and Magnus Carlsen both played excellent games and deserved to win this tournament (while theoretically, their scores were tied, Aronian received first place due to the scoring system at the tournament).

There were some well fought games in this round, but there were no major upsets.
